Florida Bar members need 30 hours of CLE every three years — including ethics, professionalism and wellness, and technology. Here is what is required, and a single package that covers it.

The Florida Supreme Court reduced the requirement from 33 to 30 hours, effective January 8, 2024. Within the 30: at least 5 hours of ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, or mental health and wellness, and at least 3 hours of technology.

Legal ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, or mental health and wellness. Bias-elimination courses no longer count toward this 5 (they still count toward the 30).
Professionalism Expectations
Every cycle includes the Florida Bar's free 2-hour “Professionalism Expectations” course. No other course substitutes for it.
Technology
Approved programs on technology in law practice — AI, cybersecurity, e-discovery, and more.
Your cycle is assigned
The Bar assigns each member a three-year reporting cycle. Check your Member Portal for your exact end date.
Recorded courses count
Florida allows credit for live webcasts and previously recorded programs.
Extra first-cycle rules
Newly admitted members have additional basic-skills requirements in their first years of practice.
